For just the second time in NFL history the MVP was unanimously voted. Lamar Jackson. Lamar Jackson is also the youngest MVP in NFL history. Lamar became the first MVP for a Ravens franchise that includes legends like Ray Lewis and Ed Reed. Jackson led the Baltimore Ravens to a NFL best 14-2 regular season record . Drafted as the last pick in the 2018 draft, Jackson’s record as a starter is 19-3.

The had bigger hopes for the Ravens season than a exit from the Titans –especially after a postseason loss from the Chargers a year ago. He promised a Super Bowl will result from the Ravens taking a chance and drafting him. That Super Bowl is his main goal and still on his mind after taking home the MVP trophy last weekend. “I’m still young,” Jackson said. “I’ve still got a lot of work to do. I’m not really trying to dwell on what I just did. If I win a Super Bowl, you’ll probably see a lot more emotion.” Jackson also took home the FedEX Air Player of the Year award. The award is given to to the best passer of the year. For Jackson who is criticized for his throwing, It is truly “Not bad for a running back.” as he’d say to the haters. Jackson also nearly took home the NFL’s Offensive Player of the Year honor, but fell two votes behind wide receiver Michael Thomas, who set the single-season receptions record (149) this season.
Lamar Jackson had one of the most memorable seasons of any sport ever. In just his second year ,He led the NFL in touchdown passes (36), beat Michael Vicks all time rushing quaterback record with 1,206 yards, and had the sixth most rushing yards in the league. He also made his season so memorable with his well known quaterback scrambles. Averaging 6.9 yards a carry, defenses came in knowing how much of a threat he was scrambling and he’d still dominate. Jackson and the ground heavy Ravens offense averaged the NFL regular season best 33.2 points per game. Being the league leader in votes for the prow bowl, Jackson took home the Offensive MVP in a winning pro bowl performance. Spending the weekend connecting with fans and other top players, he was the spotlight on the event. With just being 23 years old, Lamar took the NFL to a different level of excitement this year . Every Sunday you’d see that Lamar Jackson clip on social media that would make you say “Damn!”. Whether it was on the field making plays or off the field playing catch with Drew Brees’ sons at prow bowl practice, Lamar Jackson’s 2019-2020 season will go down as the most extraordinary ever.

The best is yet to come from LJ. As seen as the future of the NFL, he’s just getting started. With greats like Eli Manning, Tom Brady, and Brees getting older its his time. This past Sunday after winning the Super Bowl, Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes deferred and points to Lamar Jackson of the face and future of the NFL. “Its guys like him that come out and perform at a high level every year.” Lamar shares that same quality of selflessness that Mahomes displayed with his teammates and coaches. That’s what makes Lamar so likable and special. During his MVP award speech he preaches how its not just a win for him but those who believed in him. “Its been a lot of doubt going on about me being a running back or reciever. I got a great organization with me … those guys all believed in me. I don’t want to mention the doubters but the ones who believed in me because they were there from the start.”

This year belonged to Lamar Jackson. He went out and showed it every week. No matter how the season ended for him and the Ravens, Lamar Jackson deserves the praise for his performance.
